I grew up in NJ and I met my business partner at a very young age. In highschool I did pretty good but I had much more fun drawing picture so I decided to go to art school. My parents were really cool with it but my dad had this fear that I would wind up selling black velvet Elvis paintings on the side of the road. I tried my hand at the velvet paintings but wasn’t very good at it. Luckily Gregg introduced me to the Interweb.
About Me…
I studied drawing and painting in the days before the digital revolution. In 1999, I co-founded JibJab with my brother Gregg so we could hopefully make people laugh around the world. I spend a lot of time on computers these days but I still love to draw when I can. I also have another blog where I build funny little things. You can check it out HERE. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Evan
I found your blog by chance in my research, and was happy to see your wonderful sketches from the life drawing sessions you’ve been attending. By “chance”, I mean that besides being the publisher of a Figurative Arts website, I am also an old fan of JibJab! (I still have my shrink-wrapped DVD of JibJab compilations for the day when you guys hit it big.)
Evan, give TheGreatNude.tv a look-over, I hope you’ll find it most entertaining. If you’d like a complimentary pass, let me know. If you’re interested, I’ll even send you links to the Flash work that I was producing as “Dangerous Media” at the time you guys made your big splash.
Sincerely,
Jeff Wiener
